Spring Break Art Camps NW Austin

Art Plus Academy is not just a great place to learn how to draw, paint, and use other media. It’s teachers help you learn how to see the world in a different way. I’ve been taking classes there since 2018, and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. My artwork is just getting better and better. You can’t go wrong with the teachers here and the community and friends you will build and make with other students.

My daughter had a wonderful time at art camp with Ms. Erin. She told me she was nervous as we walked in on the first day, but Ms. Erin is a warm and highly-skilled art teacher who made her feel at ease right away. My daughter created beautiful pieces each day and came home raving about her experience. We cannot wait to enroll my daughter for the fall semester. We know she is in the best hands at Art + Academy!

This place is amazing! Morgan is our instructor and she had found a way to connect with our 12 yr old in a way that school teachers haven’t. Our daughter shows progress each week with new things to improve her talent. The class size is small which gives an abundant amount of 1 on 1 time with the students. Some students are just beginning, some are very advanced, and there are classes available for adults regardless of skill level. My wife and I are thrilled that we have found this place!

I am thrilled with the experience my daughter has had at Art+Academy under the guidance of teacher Marlene Llanes. Despite signing up towards the end of the school year, it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. After just one class, she was brimming with inspiration and enthusiasm for drawing. She’d come home eager to recreate what she’d learned from Ms.Marlene, and I noticed a remarkable improvement in her drawing skills after just a few sessions. Now, she spends hours engrossed in her artwork, a stark contrast from the brief 10-15 minutes she used to spend. I appreciate the small class sizes at Art+Academy; it ensures that each student receives personalized attention from their teacher.The environment isn’t overcrowded, allowing everyone to have their own space to explore their creativity comfortably. Knowing that Art+Academy offers summer camps has us excited for the upcoming break. We can’t wait to see what other creative adventures await!

During the 6 years I’ve been a student at Art Plus Academy, I’ve had the privilege of learning from three different instructors. Each teacher has a personal area of expertise, but can teach many other different forms and styles of art. In my class, each student has his/her own artistic interests and projects on which to work. Our teacher, Rose, cycles around the classroom constantly going to each student offering tips, help, suggestions, encouragement, and mini lessons which all students are invited to observe. Rose understands how necessary art is to my well-being, and the academy has provided space with a superb instructor and other students who inspire me, give constructive comments when needed, and often applaud my finished work. I have developed a very elementary talent for drawing and painting into a credible ability to create art in this incomparable studio.

My daughter started going to Art Plus Academy few years ago and she is still attending. Each year her art is better than before. I am surprised each time she brings her art home. Teachers are great and we never had any issues. I would recommend them if you are looking for a nice place for you kid to learn and improve art skills.

We love Art Plus Academy. The summer camp is fun and diverse – utilizing all kinds of media and encouraging the kids to express themselves, focus and create! Instructors are excellent and so supportive. This is a great environment for kids of all ages and artistic talents.

I started art lessons in December in the three hours every Tuesday adult class which Monica was teaching. I have grown and learned so much! I basically started at zero, with a love for trying craft projects and doing artistic things without any real knowledge of drawing. I feel like Monica always intuitively knows what to draw my attention to and where to push me. I would recommend this class to anyone! We even had some subs in May when Monica had to be out and each of the teachers were highly knowledgeable and great at teaching. If you’re thinking about taking a class, just do it! You won’t regret it 🙂

Both of my teenagers have taken art classes with Miss Marcia and they love her understated approach. She sets a relaxed tone that allows both of my children to take time to enjoy expressing themselves through art. The instruction is excellent, whether in-person or online, and we appreciated the end of session art galleries. Owner Monica is very conscientious in communicating via email, phone as needed, and has worked hard to make art accessible during the pandemic.

My daughter joined a one week summer program here and had a lot of fun. She’s typically pretty nervous around big groups so the small class size was perfect for her. My wife and I really enjoyed the fact that the school invited parents to come view all of their hard work on the last day of class. My daughter is already asking to join another class so I know she had a great time. I would highly recommend Art Academy!

My daughter has gotten to experience two separate studio art teachers, not including the subs for makeup classes, and she’s truly enjoyed every one of them. Makeup classes are easy to schedule and classes aren’t too big. Each class keeps my daughter wanting more. So much so that my youngest wants to join when she turns five and we’ve already booked summer camps!

My son was hesistant to do any sort of art. He thought he didn’t like it. But he was willing to try a class at Art +, mostly because a friend was in the class. And he fell in love with drawing! I have seen such improvement in his skill and effort in just a short time. He now spends some of his free time drawing and it is wonderful! He is proud of his work and sees his own improvement, and he can describe drawing techiniques to me. His friend, who has been at Art + for 2-3 years, has developed incredible skill. Watching this friend’s talent develop over the years has been astounding. This is a high quality art class. They keep it fun, there is a lot of freedom, and the skills are taught and practiced brilliantly. We just signed up for another year!

I highly recommend Art Plus Academy. It’s a locally owned business that offers first-rate art instruction. My daughter has taken lessons from Art Plus for the past five years (she is now a junior in high school), and my wife and I have watched her flourish as an artist. We’ve also watched Monica, the owner of Art Plus, create a vibrant art school and community. The success of Art Plus is no doubt due to Monica’s professionalism, warmth and high standards. She hires excellent teachers. She fosters a warm and inclusive atmosphere where all ages and skill levels can pursue their interest in art. My 15-year-old absolutely loves coming here for art classes; it is definitely the highlight of her week! Her skills have definitely improved in the short time that she’s been attending, and her instructor Anne is absolutely wonderful, both as an instructor and as a person. If you’re considering enrolling here, I would definitely recommend you give this school a try. It’s like no other; you won’t be disappointed.

If you want to learn to actually “see” as an artist, I recommend this art school for a wonderful learning experience. In the last 3 years I have seen my focus improve, my techniques expand, and my enthusiasm for creating beauty through art grow tremendously. Our daughter began attending Art + Academy last year as a kindergartner, and it quickly became her favorite extracurricular activity. We’ve explored various programs, but Art + Academy stood out for its ability to introduce her to new and creative drawing and painting techniques that she wouldn’t have tried on her own.
